Respect in Sport - Parent Program (GTHL)
Important aspects of this program.
Education is one of the fundamental components of the OHF and
its Minor Member Partners.
Participation is mandatory for all parents who have children
registered to play minor hockey. Parents and families are
the greatest ambassadors of the OHF and this course provides the tools to work
through any situation a parent may encounter. The cost to register for the
course and get your certification is $12.
You only need to do this once. If you completed this course last season, you do
not have to did again.
The GTHL, Alliance Hockey, NOHA and OMHA will be sharing the
program directly with their associations. This program started during the
registration period for the 2016-2017 season and continues each year as
"new players" are registered by their parents.
Respect Group was co-founded by former NHLer Sheldon Kennedy in 2004. It
partnered with the Canadian Red Cross to create a best-in-class e-learning
curriculum for mass consumption. Participants
are certified through a 90-minute program they can do from home.
