The Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) (which Goulding Park is a member) announced that all sanctioned activities within its jurisdiction are postponed until at least January 1, 2021, pending further advice from health authorities.
The decision comes as a result of a rapid rise in the infection rate in the Greater Toronto Area and a statement from Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health, Eileen de Villa, calling on the Provincial Government to prohibit indoor sports activities.
The GTHL issued its Game Plan, a staged plan to return to hockey activity, on September 1. The plan was developed to align with Hockey Canada’s Safety Guidelines and the Ontario government’s COVID-19 Return to Sport Guidelines. The Game Plan framework was formulated with the expert advice of medical professionals at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto as well as Toronto Public Health. The framework was to allow GTHL players back on the ice in a safe, fun, and secure environment while minimizing the risk of infection. Players and teams were set to begin on-ice activities on October 7.
Sanctioned activities include all on-ice and off-ice activities for all levels of minor hockey, including house league and competitive hockey in Markham, Mississauga, Toronto and Vaughan.
“There are no easy answers during a pandemic,” said GTHL President Don West. “GTHL organizational volunteers and staff have been working hard at creating the safest possible environment but given the current situation, it is time for us to pause for the safety of the players and their families.”
in the meantime, we will leave our pre-registration open, where will be collecting names of players who are interested in playing if/when a final return to play decision is made. (there is no fees that are collected when you pre-register)
Please stay healthy and safe and we will be in touch once we have further direction on the re-opening.

House League Registration
Despite the unprecedented change and uncertainty we are facing due to COVID-19. Goulding Park is working on plans for the upcoming season.
With respect to the 2020-21 hockey season, we continue to monitor the Province of Ontario & City of Toronto guidelines and Hockey Canada's Return to Hockey safety protocol, as directed to us thru the OHF & the GTHL.
While we are uncertain as to a starting date for our season and the type of program that we will be able to offer our members, once the City of Toronto and GTHL announce their Return to Play protocols we will then determine in what fashion we move forward . (Goulding Park has been considering various return-to-play scenarios, from skills-based sessions to full games)
Based on the timing of these announcements and the number of registrants to our house league, we will then be able to make final decisions about the registration fee, start date, length of season and finalize our divisional structure, including our hockey schedule.
With all of the above in mind Goulding Park is now open for PRE-REGISTRATION.
There will be no cost to pre-register for the 2020/2021 season. But by pre-registering your child holds a place with us when the season commences. We encourage you to register ASAP to hold your spot by clicking on the link above. The fees will be announced and due at a later date (TBD).--Note : All returning Goulding Park players from the 2019-20 season will be eligible for a $40 discount.
Thank you for your understanding & stay safe.
